RAWALPINDI: The Private Schools and Colleges Management Association has called on the government to withdraw the recent increase in enrollment and the extension of tuition fees in private colleges.
Punjab Higher Education has increased fees for new registration and extension of registration in private colleges by several hundred times.
As per the details, the registration fee for Intermediate, Graduation, Masters and Masters Programs have been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 and for Extension of Registration the fees have been increased. increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 25,000. Registration for LLB, D Pharmacy programs increased from Rs15,000 to Rs100,000 and extension fees increased from Rs5,000 to Rs50,000.
The association’s president, Abrar Ahmed Khan, said the decision should be withdrawn immediately or it will take the matter to court. He said a notification was issued by the Secretary for Higher Education on March 31, 2022 in which the fee increase was revealed. This increase, Mr. Abrar said, should be withdrawn immediately.
An extraordinary increase in tuition fees will not be accepted under any circumstances, he said, adding that the owners of all middle and high schools in the Rawalpindi division refused to accept this hostile decision.
