The decision to reduce summer holidays has now been taken for all educational institutions. Earlier, schools in Odisha were told that summer holidays would only be granted for 10 days.

The state government has directed the vice chancellors of all state public universities and principals of government and non-government colleges to ensure that all academic activities are completed on time.
Colleges, universities and other tertiary institutions in Odisha have also been asked to hold additional classes on public holidays, working days and after class if necessary.
