TAFRC postpones private college personal fee-setting hearings

Hyderabad: The Telangana Admissions and Fees Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) postponed private college personal hearings for setting fees on Thursday.

In a notice, the TAFRC said it had received new guidelines from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) regarding the setting of fees.

In case the same was to be implemented, the institutions would stand to benefit and there might be a need to seek further details from the institutions, he said, adding that he was reviewing the guidelines.

“Thus, for the current lock-up period, the fee-setting process is suspended. Further communications regarding the setting of costs will be sent in due course,” he said, adding that colleges for which dates have been given for the setting of costs do not need to attend personal hearings. until revised dates are released.

In the case of colleges for which the fees were already fixed from May 16 to 18, the fees may be refixed on the basis of new recommendations from the AICTE, he added.
