The Wall Street Journal ranks Texas A&M No.19 among public colleges



Texas A&M University is ranked # 19 among public universities and # 79 overall among nearly 800 colleges in the 2022 Wall Street Journal / Times Higher Education College rankings.

Rankings are based on 15 indicators that measure an institution’s performance in four areas: resources, commitment, results and environment.

Harvard University is the # 1 ranked school and private universities dominate the list: the top 20 rankings are all held by private schools. The University of Michigan is ranked number one public university.

Texas A&M is on Recent Similar Lists.

  • Texas A&M is tied at No.26 among public universities and tied at No.68 overall in S. News and Global Report2022 college ranking of more than 1,400 schools. US News Also ranks Texas A&M tied at No.15 in the country for Best Undergraduate Engineering Program and tied at No.23 for Best Undergraduate Business Programs.
  • Texas A&M is ranked # 17 among the best public universities in the country and # 10 among the best schools in the South in Forbes Magazine’s list of the best colleges and universities in the United States. With more than $ 1 billion in annual research spending – the largest in the state – Texas A&M is also among the top 40 research universities in the state. Forbes listing.
  • It is ranked # 21 overall and # 11 among public universities in Washington Monthly magazine’s annual ranking of America’s best colleges. Additionally, Texas A&M is the only school in the state to be ranked in the Top 30 National Universities, and is also ranked # 2 in the magazine’s list of “Best Bang for the Buck” Schools in the South.
